Dear Friends,

Being a Chess lover I was thinking since long to bring out a Chess periodical, but how could I? I was quite unaware of the mechanics behind a publication. But, when someone wishes to do something for the good of mankind, the Almighty God helps. It is perfectly true in our case also.

More than fifteen years ago, a true Chess lover my friend Mr. Aijaz Tahir brought "Pakistan Chess Magazine", with his untiring solo efforts. At that time it was really a daunting task to bring out such a publication. Despite all the odds, Aijaz Tahir brought out an extremely professional magazine. The publicaton, sadly enough, ceased very soon after its inception, partly due to the non-cooperative attitude of the then office bearers of Chess Federation. Well done Aijaz Thahir! Your fulfill your job extremely well.

The fate of Pakistan Chess Magazine was before me, then what compelled me to bring out yet another publication? The reason is quite simple: to project Chess and players.

I discussed this idea with my friend Mr. Abdul Karim, who graciously agreed. Day and night efforts spread on almost an year, things materialized and our dream came true. In this regard we requested to many peoples, few of them who replied and accorded their utmost co-operation are GM Lembit Oll, GM Mikhail Gourvich, GM Yasser Seriawan, Dr. Aleksey Bartashnikov and Michael Greengard.

We are looking forward for your suggestions and criticism to present you a better publication.
